Bio / Anita McKenzie

dog chop green.png

I have been painting for more than 40 years taking inspiration from european medieval history, the renaissance, and my deep interest in mythology and symbolism. My work ranges from medieval and renaissance panel paintings to miniatures and illuminations. My icon work follows the byzantine tradition and is executed in tempera. My desire in painting is to delight the eye and engage the spirit.
